Despite FSU basketball’s ugly loss to Xavier, the Seminoles had a great year overall. We look back at the top five moments of the season.

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Sure, none of us expected FSU basketball’s season come to that kind of end — a 25 point drubbing at the hands of a less talented Xavier team without its best player, but we did know this team had a ceiling. If the Seminoles didn’t lose in the Round of 32, they almost certainly would have against Arizona in the Sweet 16.

And for all we know, considering Florida State’s complete inability to shoot the basketball, that outcome may have been even worse.

Regardless, it was a great year overall. I totally understand — tensions are high, and with good reason. That end to the season was disappointing, if not a little pathetic.

But that doesn’t change the fact that FSU basketball was a win away from setting a school record, went undefeated in Tallahassee, finished second in the ACC (there’s one ACC team currently left in the NCAA Tournament after one weekend, maybe this isn’t as  impressive as we thought) and experienced the highest highs FSU basketball fans have had in years.

So with it time to reminisce, we’re going to take a look back at the season that was: Here are the five best moments of 2016-17.
