We've surpassed the midway point of the 2024 season, which means some football programs are already making moves in preparation for the 2025 season.
I wrote about the potential fallout if FSU decides to fire several coaches after the 2024 season. However, that was before several firings got announced on Sunday:
ECU has fired head coach Mike Houston, per the school.

Don't get it twisted. FSU isn't going to fire Mike Norvell during or after this season after he signed a multi-year extension in February. This season is abysmal, but he'll get at least one more year to right the ship after going 23-4 over the past two seasons and winning the first ACC Championship since 2014.
However, righting the ship will involve firing coaches, particularly on offense, because that's where the biggest issues have been, even going back to last season after Jordan Travis got hurt and ended his FSU career.
That means Alex Atkins and Ron Dugans because the offensive line and wide receivers are near the worst among college teams. Oklahoma fired their offensive coordinator, and Oklahoma averaged seven more points per game than FSU through seven games.
