Florida State football has not finished the 2025 season how they wanted to after defeating Alabama in the opener. However, the Seminoles can still finish the regular season with bowl eligibility if they beat the arch-rival Florida Gators on the road.
It won't be an easy task, as the Seminoles have failed to be victorious away from home since their 2023 meeting against Florida (yes, it has been that long ago). The fan base just wants to turn the page to the 2026 season. It has been disappointing to witness Florida State turn a 2-10 campaign in 2024 to this result.
Before we get to the end of the season and a potential bowl game looming in the distance, the Seminoles' coaching staff have to finish strong on the recruiting trail. Florida State currently has the fourteenth-best recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite.
We mentioned earlier that On3's Steve Wiltfong reported via Twitter (X) that Class of 2026 four-star defensive end Kamron Wilson will likely stick with his pledge of Syracuse.
This was a disappointing turn of events, after the thought process was that the Seminoles were getting confident in their ability to land him. However, that was not the case. Florida State looks at its class of 28 prospects, which is a very solid amount of talent.
The recruiting class could be finished leading up to the Early Signing Period, but maybe the Seminoles can shock someone, since they wanted to emphasize a massive change after keeping Norvell. However, the program still finished with a recruiting class outside the top-ten, even with the 13-1 record.
This seems like a class that Florida State wants to keep most of the recruits in the fold, then address the remaining needs such as offensive tackle, defensive end, and linebacker in the transfer portal.
