This could be good news for Florida State football fans that live in Tampa

I would like to see them play in the state of Florida.

Florida State football is not having the 2025 season that it envisioned after the opening victory against Alabama by a score of 31-17 on August 30th. That moment seemed like an eternity ago, as the Seminoles have limped to the finish line.

Florida State had their chance to get their first road win of the season against North Carolina State, but the Carter-Finley Stadium curse struck them again.

It is deflating for a fan base that had to suffer through the 2-10 campaign last year, and now have the Seminoles announcing that head football coach Mike Norvell will be back for the 2026 season.

Florida State will now be traveling to Gainesville on Saturday afternoon to take on the arch-rival Florida Gators, who have played a bit more competitive with an interim coach. However, it will not be easy as some think to obtain the bowl eligibility.

The Seminoles need to beat Florida, and that should be their top focus. While I don't want to be someone that foreshadows an event before it happens, ESPN.com has dropped their bowl projections after this past weekend's results. Click here for the full piece.

ESPN's Mark Schlabach has the Seminoles playing the UConn Huskies in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The game would be played on December 19th at 3:30 PM EST on ESPN.

This would be amazing for all the Florida State fans that live in Florida and want to see the Seminoles one last time in the state. The most beneficial part of it is that the youngsters, specifically from the 2025 recruiting cycle, will get more reps with the bowl practices.

The next obstacle that the coaching staff will have to navigate through would be keeping those talented players on the roster if there are major changes with the program. After the 2-10 season in Tallahassee last season, this is refreshing to discuss bowl games again.
