Florida State football has been a disappointment in 2024, where they have a 1-9 record. The Seminoles were thought to win a conference championship and make the College Football Playoff in the offseason. However, the season isn't built in the offseason... Just ask the Miami Hurricanes.
I thought that the Seminoles would have been motivated by the College Football Playoff snub, where an undefeated Florida State was left out in favor of a one-loss Alabama squad.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
Head football coach Mike Norvell talked to former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III on his podcast "Outta Pocket with RGIII" about the message that he wants to express the alumni and fan base.

As I have previously stated in an article before, Robert Griffin III was a big supporter of Florida State. Unlike his ESPN colleagues (such as Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy), he stood his ground on why the Seminoles deserved to be in the College Football Playoff.
Ironically enough, after Griffin III stated something about Florida State being left out of the playoff, he was relieved of his duties by ESPN. I liked the creative and fun personality that he expressed when commentating on a variety of games (the MonStars are the best).
One of the calls that I loved was when the former signal-caller went crazy when Florida State running back Lawrance Toafili barely stayed in bounds as he scored a 75-yard touchdown in the 2021 matchup versus Clemson.
As it relates to the interview, it is great that Norvell recognizes that the passion of this fan base is high. The standard is the standard at Florida State. The fifth-year head coach understands that it has not been good enough.
Norvell tells his players all of the time about responding to moments of adversity when difficult times show up. Florida State has had the worst-case scenario with the record in 2024. Even though I realize that actions need to speak louder than words, there isn't much that he can do to change what happened this year while there are still two games on the schedule.
It does help that the youth movement on the roster is here to see what the squad has for 2025. Then Norvell was able to fire three assistant coaches on the staff (there could be more after the year). Will he be better in 2025?
