Florida State football is hosting several 2027 recruits for its Junior Day event. The Seminoles must attract highly-touted high school talent to Tallahassee after their disappointing two-year stretch of seven wins in two years.
However, the 2026 recruiting class was a success, where the program finished in the top-fifteen according to 247Sports Composite rankings. While I understand that it isn't the top-five recruiting classes that former head football coach Jimbo Fisher had, it is great to have talented prospects flocking to Tallahassee.
Many times, we talk about signees in the class, such as Chauncey Kennon, Izayia Williams, Jasen Lopez, Earnest Rankins, etc. However, we sometimes forget about the underrated recruits that could make a difference in the program.
Wide receiver signee Jonah Winston visits Florida State with his brother, Jameis Winston
One signee that Florida State fans might discount is three-star wide receiver signee Jonah Winston, who is the younger brother of Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston.
The Alabama native was someone that the Seminoles valued not just because of the legendary ties, but because of his skill set that involved being used all over the football field in Gus Malzahn's offense that can deliver on explosiveness.
The younger Winston decided to take a visit to Florida State after signing with his older brother on Saturday.

This is great to see a legendary figure like Jameis Winston back in Tallahassee to support his younger brother on his visit. This could help the Seminoles' efforts in recruiting, as the program tries to get back on track for sustainable success.
It is great to see former players back in town. More importantly, with the current squad, is that Jonah Winston could be a great player for this university, and fans could be hearing his name being called when he scores touchdowns in Doak Campbell Stadium.
