Offensive Line
The FSU offensive line has been a unit that hasn't been good since the early days of the Jimbo Fisher era. For perspective, FSU hasn't had an offensive lineman drafted since Rick Leonard in the 2018 NFL Draft, and even that was a bit of a surprise.
The failure of this unit under Fisher, Willie Taggart, and Mike Norvell has been one of the biggest reasons FSU has lost most of the games they've lost since 2018.
It has hampered QB development and wide receiver development. However, new offensive line coach Herb Hand has a proven track record in developing good offensive lines that execute in the running game.
O'Neal isn't expected to come in and play as a true freshman, which gives Hand more time to work his magic.
If O'Neal has a solid offensive line and offense that can run the ball with its running backs, he won't be needed in the run game as much. We saw FSU have a top-10 offense in 2022 with Jordan Travis only running the ball 82 times, and a good portion of those were not designed runs.
