FSU coaches completed the flip of blue-chip quarterback Jaden O'Neal from Oklahoma on Saturday. O'Neal officially de-committed from the Sooners on Thursday night after visiting FSU in April and taking an official visit earlier this week.

It was a process, as FSU had a four-star quarterback de-commit in late January and played musical chairs with a handful of other blue-chip talents over the past few months. O'Neal is someone they had a prior relationship with, as he camped at FSU before committing to Oklahoma.

He needed a new home, as Oklahoma hired a new offensive coordinator after he committed, and FSU needed a high-caliber quarterback.

Some folks have voiced concerns or downright put out false narratives about O'Neal's fit in a Gus Malzhan offense. I wrote about some of those false narratives a few weeks ago here. The notion that Malzhan must have a true dual-threat guy at quarterback to have an effective offense is way overblown.

Jaden O'Neal is largely thought to be a pocket passer who can use his legs when he needs to, and that will work just fine in Malzahn's offense. Let's get into it.
