DB EARL LITTLE JR.

The Florida State defense plays aggressively and physically. They fly to the football. This was something that we didn't see much last season. Obviously, this isn't a shot at the previous regime, but it could have been a needed change of direction.

I will admit that I was super optimistic about this team's potential last year, but it didn't pan out the way that any of us thought it would with the 2-10 record. One player who was thought to be the leader of the entire unit was defensive back Earl Little Jr.

Little Jr. had come in from Alabama in the 2023 offseason. The potential for him was high, given that he was a borderline five-star prospect in the 2022 cycle. Sometimes we see that a change of scenery at a different position could do wonders for a player (Example: Renardo Green).

Little Jr. made the switch from nickel cornerback to safety midway through the disastrous 2024 campaign. Then he moved to the Rover position in Tony White's scheme. The former Alabama transfer is leading the team in tackles (11) and recorded an interception in the East Texas A&M game. There is a chance that he could start fast against Kent State before going out at halftime.
