Will this be a boom or bust weekend for FSU recruiting?
FSU is in play for several targets that are expected to make their announcements this weekend, and it's safe to say that right now there are a lot of mixed messages about what might happen.
The Seminoles would like to add at least one more linebacker to the class and two major targets will be on the table this weekend -- Rodney Colton out of Newnan, Georgia and DQ Forkpa from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Colton had FSU as his leader in early June, telling 247Sports:: "FSU is my top, I ain't going to lie. They beat the school I was looking at. Right now, they're in the lead."
But in recruiting, a month is like a lifetime. Right now it's hard to determine whether Colton is leaning. He has been trending for both Colorado and Ole Miss. In his more recent comments to 247Sports , Colton went into detail on each of the three schools and said most of the things you'd expect. However, there was one statement that lends to the idea that Colton's recruitment could come down to finances.
"I have a family to feed," Colton said. That's all I'll say. My family - my mom, siblings - and God will help me decide."

Forkpa is basically down to FSU and Florida, but the Gators have been in a good position with this recruitment for the past few weeks. It feels like Colton is the better of the two options to end up in Tallahassee.
Another target on the defense, edge rusher Katrell Webb, is going to make his decision over the weekend between FSU, Indiana and Purdue. Edge rusher is a position of need for the Seminoles after they lost out on the recruitment of Chris Addison, but it's not clear whether Webb is their guy or if the staff may look to go another route.
Webb was originally scheduled to announce his decision on July 4, but he didn't and has since went silent on social media. This adds to opinion that he might not have been a take for FSU at the time.
Thank you God, big thanks and shouts out to my family members, coaches and teammates. The process has been amazing. I’ve been through it all and I am a true testament of following Gods greater plan! With that being said i will be committing July 4th! Wheres home!?! pic.twitter.com/ZcuEhySgre

If FSU can land at least one of these three prospects, it would add some necessary young depth at a position of need. There's also a chance that the FSU staff is already looking at alternative options, possibly a transfer like KingJoseph Edwards.
FSU has put together a good effort in recruitment this summer, and it culminated with a commitment from a five-star defensive back. Now it's time to put the finishing touches on this class.
