What should we be monitoring for FSU football recruiting?

CAN THE SEMINOLES ENTER THE FOLD WITH GRIFFIN?

Florida State's only five-star prospect that is officially visiting campus this weekend is Xavier Griffin from Gainesville, Georgia. Say what you will about the Seminoles' chance, but Griffin has decided to give Florida State the last opportunity to wow him before he makes his decision.

That has to speak volumes to the relationship that he has with the coaching staff. The Seminoles have moved on from linebackers coach Randy Shannon this past offseason, so former defensive ends coach John Papuchis has moved over to coach the position.

It has surprised me to see Coach Papuchis have such an expanded recruiting board, with already having four-star Karon Maycock and three-star Caleb LaVallee in the fold. Nonetheless, the roster has veteran linebackers on the team that will be in their last year at Florida State, such as transfers Elijah Herring and Stefon Thompson.

This should be an encouraging sign for Griffin for future playing time. However, the Alabama Crimson Tide holds the crystal ball advantage after he de-committed from the USC Trojans. This would be a massive recruiting victory for the Seminoles.
