Florida State football will be taking on the Virginia Tech Hokes on Saturday night at 7:30 PM EST in Doak Campbell Stadium. The energy in the stadium might not be the best from the fan base, since the program has lost five of its last six games.
I am sure that head football coach Mike Norvell could hear a flurry of boos from individuals after the losses have stacked up. However, the Seminoles have to worry about the task at hand: Beating Virginia Tech.
The Seminoles open up as 13.5-point favorites against the Hokies, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. This doesn't give anyone the warm feelings, given the program has been multiple possession favorites and lost outright.
SHOULD FANS WORRY ABOUT QB DRONES?
Virginia Tech is looking for a new head football coach, but this is still a squad that has some talented pieces on their roster, such as quarterback Kyron Drones.
Florida State fans should remember when Drones made his famous quote in 2023, where he mentioned that Doak Campbell Stadium was "overhyped".

The craziest part was that he mentioned that Florida State's atmosphere wasn't louder than Louisville, since should be a crime to have such a statement like that. Drones had a difficult performance against the Seminoles in 2023, where he completed 14 of his 27 passes for 104 yards and zero touchdowns through the air (according to ESPN Stats and Information).
Virginia Tech ended up losing the game by a score of 39-17, where it was 22-0 at the end of the first quarter. The fans were not concerned by the Hokies (even though they cut the lead to 22-17 at halftime). That is probably why Drones didn't hear much from the Seminoles' fan base, especially in the second half with him being disappointing.
As it stands, this could be a weird and quiet environment in Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday night. There will be fans in the stands since it will be Senior Night, but there are individuals fed up with the product on the field and Drones could see a stadium that might not be up to the challenge of generating noise to make it difficult for him to hear.
