Florida State football lost this past Saturday to quite possibly the worst Clemson team in some time. The Tigers hadn't beaten a Power Four team in six tries before the Seminoles came to town. To make matters even worse, Florida State looked to have confidence in itself after the win over Wake Forest.
While I was not ready to hang the championship banner after beating the mighty Wake Forest, it seemed like the Florida State squad had turned a corner and knew the urgency of the situation.
However, as the loss transpired on Saturday and the scoreboard showed a two touchdown loss, the Seminoles' fan base began to realize that the "New November" term wasn't on Florida State's side.
BAD TRENDS CONTINUE FOR FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football continues into a downward spiral as a program, and they have to manage to find their way out of it. The Seminoles had high expectations after beating Alabama in the season opener, but are having to temper those back when the losing started to happen.
I am not one to throw my pitchforks in the mix, but head football coach Mike Norvell has been on the bad side of records during his tenure in Tallahassee. It doesn't help that Florida State is 6-15 in the last 21 games, which is not the standard here with the Seminoles.
On3's Brett McMurphy presented a statistic on Twitter (X) that Florida State has less ACC wins (2) than UConn (3) since 2024. That is painful to see since the Huskies aren't even in the conference. This is yet another level of ammunition that fans can have because some don't want him in Tallahassee.

UConn 3
Florida State 2
At some point, Florida State football will find its way out of this mess, with or without Mike Norvell. Either way, the Seminoles have their contest against Virginia Tech up next, as the Hokies travel to Doak Campbell Stadium this Saturday at 7:30 PM EST on the ACC Network.
