FSU RECRUITING HAS BEEN ON A HEATER

Florida State football's 2026 recruiting class is now sitting as the 19th-best in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, with the newest addition of four-star quarterback Jaden O'Neal.

This was a huge pick-up to get since the Seminoles had four-star Brady Smigiel de-commit when Gus Malzahn was hired as the new offensive coordinator. They had their fair share of struggles after striking out on five-star Keisean Henderson (Houston commit), four-star Landon Duckworth, and four-star Bowe Bentley (Oklahoma commit).

With O'Neal in the fold, this should allow Florida State to get the necessary pieces for its offense to be successful, such as four-star wide receiver Devin Carter. However, some individuals don't think about the offensive line possibly getting a boost, too.

OL DONEL ROBINSON

Florida State started Sunday with a commitment from unranked offensive lineman Luke Francis from Coral Gables Senior High School in Florida. However, the Seminoles are prone to bad news on the recruiting trail, especially given the way high school prospects are unpredictable.

Three-star offensive tackle commit Xavier Payne backed off of his pledge later that afternoon. This could be a mutual parting of ways, as Payne previously officially visited Colorado and Syracuse earlier in the summer.

However, Florida State football recruiting isn't all bad, as four-star offensive lineman Donel Robinson from Lexington, Mississippi, officially visited the Seminoles this weekend. The Mississippi native conducted a trip to Baylor earlier this month.

Thankfully, in-state schools such as Ole Miss and Mississippi State are not involved in his recruitment. Robinson met with the media after his official visit with the Seminoles, where he told them that he will be deciding between Florida State and Baylor "very soon".

As we know, "very soon" could mean today or it could mean a month from now, so the vague timeline doesn't give much clarity. The offensive lineman explained that assistant coach Herb Hand did not have a specific position (tackle, guard, or center) that he preferred him to play when he got to college.

Overall, I would like the take if the Seminoles were able to secure the four-star prospect.
