Final Thoughts

I’m cool with running it back with Tony White. He recruits at least, and his defense showed some improvement over the year, aside from the guys laying down against Florida in the season finale. However, that might have had more to do with the FSU offense not doing its part when it got a three-and-out to start the second half.

When FSU scored points, the FSU defense seemed to play better. Terrance Knighton was fine on the defensive line. Evan Cooper had the safeties playing physical at least, and he’s familiar with White’s scheme.

Chris Thomsen might be the most underrated coach on the staff. Herb Hand did wonders with the FSU offensive line. We saw some development from the receivers under Tim Harris Jr., and he’s shown he can recruit well.

That mixture of coaches with some new blood might be enough to help Mike Norvell re-establish some positive culture at FSU. I wouldn’t bet money on it, but it’s the only option he has, because running it back with these three isn’t going to get it done.
