Tony Tokarz-QB Coach

FSU quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz has to go. His recruiting has been OK. He has landed some fringe blue-chip guys and Luke Kromenhoek, but the latter’s recruiting ranking was more about a projection than anything else.

He transferred to Mississippi State and was the third-string quarterback who threw fewer than five passes all season. We haven’t seen any quarterback development from Brock Glenn. It could be fair to say he got ruined behind that terrible offensive line last season.

However, the FSU offensive line was much improved this year, and he looked the same whenever he got into games. Thomas Castellanos came to FSU with bad habits, and none of them got corrected. He actually got worse as the season progressed, and his decision-making wasn’t great for an experienced guy.

I understand it’s difficult to make changes once a guy gets to a certain point, but FSU hasn’t gotten enough from the quarterback position under Tony Tokarz’s watch.

He doesn’t recruit well enough to offset what he lacks as a quarterbacks coach. Mike Norvell hiring a new quarterbacks coach could help him get a reset, and that new voice might help things on the offensive side.
