QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS' ABILITY TO USE HIS LEGS

Florida State football had tremendous success with former quarterback Jordan Travis. He developed into a great passer of the football during his career with the Seminoles, but what made Travis so special was his dual-threat ability to escape the pocket and extend plays.

The Seminoles brought in former UCF and Boston College quarterback transfer Thomas Castellanos this offseason. The program is back in the transfer portal for another quarterback solution as Florida State thought that veteran DJ Uiagalelei would be serviceable (it didn't work out).

Castellanos was caught in some unnecessary shots by the fan base, considering that he was benched last year at Boston College. However, head football coach Bill O'Brien hasn't been the best developer of quarterbacks and typically likes to stick to his pro-style scheme, which didn't fit Castellanos's play style.

However, the past is the past, and we cannot continue to harp on it. However, it does help that Castellanos can use his leg to extend plays as he recorded over 1,100 rushing yards during his 2023 season, which could bring a whole new dimension to the offense.
