RB/ATH JAYLIN LUCAS
There was a moment in the Jacksonville practices where head football coach Mike Norvell mentioned that redshirt junior running back Jaylin Lucas broke out on a massive play in the open field.
This is the type of speed that the Seminoles need in the offense, especially since it was missing in 2024. We know that Lucas is returning after the season-ending injury that he suffered versus Boston College in the second game of the year, but this is a moment for the former Indiana transfer to shine.
Head football coach Mike Norvell mentioned that the Seminoles' second fall scrimmage will be situational and could include more special teams work. Coach Norvell has always emphasized the special teams aspect of his teams while at Florida State.
Lucas could be a vital part of the Seminoles' special teams unit (if he isn't putting points on the scoreboard on offense), with him being a kickoff/punt returner to showcase his elite speed. It will be fascinating to see what Florida State can do with him in fall camp.
