FIVE-STAR CB CHAUNCEY KENNON

Florida State football already has defensive backs, such as four-star Darryl "Tre" Bell III, four-star Tedarius Hughes, and three-star Sean Johnson, committed to the program. All three defenders are on their official visits this weekend with the Seminoles.

Even though the program has three defensive backs committed, it doesn't mean that they should let up on its pursuit of cornerback Chauncey Kennon from Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida.

I know that Florida State football recruiting has been criticized by a portion of the fan base, but defensive back coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has continued to flex his recruiting muscles for the university.

Even though Kennon is officially visiting Florida State this weekend, the Seminoles are still battling against LSU, Georgia, Florida, and Miami. It doesn't help that he will be visiting LSU next weekend before making his commitment on July 6th.

However, some of the fan base thought that the Seminoles were out of it when former four-star prospect Charles Lester III had Colorado involved. That was a big recruiting victory for Florida State, and I think they have a realistic shot at landing Kennon.
