This is a head scratcher... RB target flips his commitment to a Big Ten program

The Seminoles cannot be losing recruits to this program.

Florida State football's 2026 recruiting class is the 14th-best in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. This is exactly where most fans probably envision the Seminoles to be, since the program has not accomplished a top-ten recruiting ranking in multiple years.

It should be noted that the job security of head football coach Mike Norvell and his assistants are up in the air. The Seminoles have a record of 4-5, with, losing five of the last six games. The hope is that Florida State finds a way to turn the bad luck around.

This is the idea of many recruits that are likely still in the fold. However, just like all of us fans, Florida State football won't be down forever and individuals hope that it is sooner rather than later. The Seminoles will be taking on Virginia Tech this Saturday at 7:30 PM EST on the ACC Network.

FSU TARGET COMMITS ELSEWHERE

Florida State fans got some heartbreaking news, as three-star running back target Qwantavius Wiggins from Fairburn, Georgia, has flipped his commitment from FIU to Wisconsin.

This is noteworthy since Wiggins took an official visit to Tallahassee, and the Seminoles wanted him in their class. Florida State does not have a running back prospect committed to the fold, after four-star Amari Thomas flipped to South Carolina.

With that said, it is disappointing that Wiggins flipped to Wisconsin because the Badgers already had four-star Amari Latimer in their class and the program has a 3-6 record. They did have their best win of the season against Washington at home this past weekend by a score of 13-10.

Plus, the program has been known for developing good running backs in their system. The program has shown positivity towards head football coach Luke Fickell by the administration after the struggles.

Overall, Latimer could be in play for Florida State down the road, but that could be wishful thinking since programs like Ohio State and Tennessee are candidates to flip his services. Wiggins would have given the program a chance to avoid having to go to the transfer portal for depth at running back.
