Recruiting

Many folks put a lot of stock into how all of this affects recruiting, but firing or not firing Mike Norvell won’t affect recruiting too much. If they fired him on Monday, they’d be de-commitments left and right.

If FSU continues to lose, there will be de-commitments left and right. As mentioned, FSU won’t hire a new coach until the season ends, so it’s not like a new coach could recruit beforehand.

The staff remaining after they fired Mike Norvell wouldn’t have much influence because it’s unlikely they would be retained by the new coaching staff.

Recruiting is what it is, and this recruiting class will likely be another transition class. The hope is that the FSU administration can identify who they can likely get as the next head coach to make that transition fairly quickly, so they can assemble staff and get on the recruiting trails ASAP.
