What if FSU fires him before the season ends, despite the statement sayin they'd wait until the season is over?

FSU put themselves in a box with that statement that they'd wait until the end of the season to do a comprehensive assessment.

There is a world where Wake Forest beats FSU, bringing more angry fans out of the woodwork, and FSU goes to Clemson and gets their heads smashed in by a Clemson team that’s nowhere near being in the hunt for the ACC Title.

It would not surprise me to see that happen and for FSU to pull the trigger on the firing, especially with the next game at home in Doak Campbell Stadium. If we thought Wake Forest was bad? Let FSU lose to Wake Forest, and then a bad Clemson team blows them out in Death Valley.

Doak will be empty as heck for the Virginia Tech game, and the few fans in attendance will be on 10,000 levels of toxicity.  Just because FSU said they would wait until the end of the season to make a decision doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the case.

However, if that’s true, why not make the decision on Monday?
