Florida State football made many changes after having a 2-10 record during the 2024 season. The Seminoles were projected to win the conference and have a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Head football coach Mike Norvell made the necessary coaching staff changes with offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, wide receivers coach Tim Davis Jr., offensive line coach Herb Hand, defensive coordinator Tony White, defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, and safeties coach Evan Cooper.
This was necessary for Florida State to make the right moves to achieve sustainability as a program. I already mentioned in a previous article that Nebraska defensive end transfer James Williams was a must for the Seminoles.
One other transfer seems to be UCF defensive tackle transfer Lee Hunter. The Seminoles were involved in Hunter's recruitment in high school, but he ultimately decided to go elsewhere.
The 6'4" and 321-pound defender could be a pivotal piece in the Seminoles' defense that is losing starting defensive tackles Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr. to the NFL. During the 2024 season, Hunter recorded 45 tackles (10 for loss) and one sack for the Knights.
It was interesting to monitor if the defensive tackle would take a visit to Tallahassee since Hunter had a good relationship with former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn.
Hunter displayed on his Instagram account's story that he is currently on a visit in Tallahassee.
The Seminoles need to find a way to get him to commit on the visit. Hunter would be a starter at the defensive tackle position for Florida State if he were to commit. It looks like Terrance Knighton is off to a great start with recruiting talented pieces.
