Florida State football has the 12th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles would like to inch its way to the top-ten by the time the Early Signing Period rolls around in December.
Head football coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff want to place a priority on acquiring prospects in the high school ranks. They looked to rely on transfer portal prospects. The college football landscape does involve the transfer market.
However, if the transfer portal class does not pan out, it turns into what the Seminoles' season was last year with the 2-10 record. That does not mean that it has to be the reality going forward. The new coaching staff finished well in the 2025 cycle, so the expectation was set.
Florida State needs to recruit heavily and develop in-house with prospects in the offensive and defensive trenches. They are important in hopes of competing for conference and national championships.
On Monday, Class of 2026 three-star defensive end Kamron Wilson from Miami Southridge High School in Miami, Florida received a crystal ball prediction in favor of Florida State from Noles247's Zach Blostein.
While I know several individuals look at his star ranking and think "Ahh man, another three-star...", it should be noted that Wilson should be a candidate to elevate himself to a four-star. He recorded 118 tackles (32 for loss) and 17 sacks during the 2024 season.
This is a prospect in South Florida that Florida State needs to land. Wilson will be officially visiting the Seminoles on the weekend of June 20th so the coaching staff needs to close the door in the recruitment.
