Scoring Defense

The number one priority of the defense is to limit the number of points scored each game. Nebraska's defense allowed 27.6 points per game the year before Tony White arrived in Lincoln.

If you want to gauge how much improvement we can expect from FSU in 2025? Tony White's defense in his first year at Nebraska only allowed 18.3 ppg. That's more than a touchdown better than the previous year.

Guess how many points the 2025 FSU defense allowed on average each game? They allowed 28 points, which is nearly identical to Nebraska the year before White arrived.

However, I think FSU has more overall talent on the 2025 team compared to what Tony White inherited at Nebraska. This is White's third time implementing his defense at a new spot since 2020, and surely he learned more and more each time he's implemented it.

FSU will face several teams with new quarterbacks and new offensive coordinators, and that should be an advantage for FSU.
