Well, this sheds a little more light on Conrad Hussey's dismissal.
CBS Sports reports that there was a physical altercation between Hussey and one of the FSU position coaches. Before Hussey was dismissed, it had been reported that he fell out of favor with the coaching staff and was dealing with the hand injury that kept him limited.

"My source down in Tallahassee tells me that Conrad Hussey had a physical altercation with a position coach at Florida State, which led to him no longer being with the program," Brandon Marcello said. "As one source told me, it wasn't a good look for Conrad Hussey, and it wasn't a good look for the position coach."
There's no need to speculate on which position coach was involved or why it happened. It's clear from Tony White's comments after the second scrimmage that frustration was high between the coaches and some players in the program.
Norvell quickly shifts focus back to game preparation
The big surprise to me is that this is something that never happens in a Mike Norvell program. There have been stories to no end about players and coaches getting into verbal altercations that either led to physical scraps or where the parties needed to be physically separated. But Norvell's mantra from the day he walked into Tallahassee has been about culture and bringing in the right fit for the program.
Even early in his tenure, when he had some friction with defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, Norvell turned what could have been an explosive situation into a positive one where he empowered the player to become the change he wanted to see.
It also makes sense that Norvell was pretty curt in his comments (by Norvell standards) when he was asked about Hussey's dismissal. He just gave a very short quote thanking him for the time they had together and said that the decision was made.
I don't expect it to be any sort of distraction for FSU as it prepares for the season opener against Alabama. Hussey was not going to be a featured player on the defense this season and had slid down the depth chart considerably.
