Congratulations Chauncey Kennon, you made the list!

On3/Rivals released their preseason High School All-Americans and the five-star FSU commit from Sarasota (Booker HS) was a first-team cornerback.

Kennon is the centerpiece of a recruiting class that has hung around the top 15 for most of the summer and even flirted with the top ten for a few weeks. He is the second composite five-star prospect to commit to the Seminoles under Mike Norvell's watch, joining wide receiver Hykeem Williams (now at Colorado).

Expect Kennon to play wide receiver and cornerback for Booker this season. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder will start his season Friday against Manatee High School in a 'kickoff classic' game.

All the recruits will be in Tallahassee for Week 1

August 30 is going to be a massive showcase for FSU and there will be tons of recruits in the house when the Seminoles welcome Alabama to Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time in program history. Expect most, if not all, of the current commits in the 2026 recruiting class to be present.

There will also be some additional noteworthy prospects in attendance. Offensive tackle Johnnie Jones, a UCLA commit, is a player the FSU staff is desperately trying to flip, and he'll be in the building. Also, top in-state linebacker prospect Izayia Williams is expected to attend.

Williams is currently committed to Ole Miss, but he was committed to FSU as a junior and has also given his pledge to Syracuse, Louisville and Florida over the past year, so it's safe to say his recruitment will be one to watch until the ink dries.

FSU basketball will also have top-100 in-state prospect, guard Brandon Bass Jr. in Tallahassee on an official visit.

Time to close the book on Hussey

Earlier this week, FSU announced that former four-star safety Conrad Hussey was dismissed from the team. After a promising freshman campaign in 2023, Hussey took some steps back in 2024, like nearly everyone else, and he seemed to fall out of favor with the new defensive coaching staff this spring while also dealing with a hand injury.

Mike Norvell made a short statement about Hussey during his press conference yesterday:

"He's been dismissed from the team," Norvell said. "Obviously, grateful for the time that we've been able to be together. But at the end of the day, it's a decision that was made."

Meanwhile, Hussey hasn't made any sort of statement on social media, but he did repost a quote from the Bible, something he often does on his X account.
