DE JARED VERSE

This final selection was a bit difficult to make given that the Seminoles will have to replace so many pivotal pieces. However, I decided to pick defensive end Jared Verse.

I understand that the coaching staff has secured talented pass rushers via the transfer portal with options such as Marvin Jones Jr., Tomiwa Durojaiye, and Sione Lolohea. Then you also have to consider that they are bringing back a rising star in Patrick Payton, who had 44 total tackles (14.5 for loss) and 7 sacks last season.

However, the former Albany transfer has made the most of his opportunity at Florida State where he accumulated 89 total tackles (29.5 for loss) and 18 sacks during his two-year playing career in Tallahassee.

As we navigate to the 2024 NFL Draft, Verse looks like he is set up to be a first-round draft pick. That level of talent is difficult to replace. However, there is hope that defensive ends coach John Papuchis can get the most out of what they have in the position room. I am not suggesting that they can replace Verse's production with one singular player, but maybe it can be a collective effort.
