Who are some underrated FSU players that need to be monitored for the future?

As most fans know, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller utilizes quite a bit of defensive backs within his 4-2-5 defensive scheme. Several players will receive some burn this upcoming season. That speaks to the talent that is in the room.

Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. had a successful season in 2023 where the secondary allowed 179.9 passing yards per game (11th in the FBS). Even with having to replace the likes of Akeem Dent, Jarrian Jones, and Renardo Green, the defense might not even take a step back.

One player that the coaching staff was super high during the last offseason was KJ Kirkland. The former four-star prospect was showcasing flashes of being very instinctual with being able to locate the football at an effective method.

Kirkland was worked out as a cornerback. While I think that he can be utilized as a safety or cornerback, I trust the coaching staff's ability to put the players in the best positions possible.
