TRANSFER PORTAL ACQUISTIONS

Florida State has always made a name for itself in the transfer portal. This offseason was no different for the Seminoles as they added fifteen new transfers to the program.

One polarizing pickup was the quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. He previously had stops at Clemson and Oregon State. With the Beavers sticking it out in the deserted Pac-12 conference and his head football coach leaving to take another job, it was the perfect opportunity to join a successful football team that needs a veteran bridge gap for their younger signal callers to develop.

Overall, the transfers that were brought in were not flashy. However, they don't have to be. The Seminoles want to ensure that they refuse to take a major step as a program after the two-year success that they had.

While I realize that taking a high amount of transfers likely isn't ideal if you want to consistently compete for national championships, it does allow younger players to develop and allows the transfers to showcase their skills in a new environment.

There will be plenty of transfers making meaningful plays inside the confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
