DEFENSIVE END

Florida State has had to lick its wounds when it comes to defensive end recruiting. While the Seminoles have successfully picked up two talented options in the 2024 cycle with four-stars DD Holmes and Amaree Williams.

However, it has also suffered losses in the past when it comes to closing the deal. It should not go unnoticed that Florida State has made its name off of securing talented pass rushers in the transfer portal such as Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, and Jared Verse.

The Seminoles have capable defensive ends in their rotation such as Patrick Payton, Marvin Jones Jr., Sione Lolohea, Tomiwa Durojaiye, and Byron Turner Jr. Even with those contributors on the roster, you can never have too many pass rushers pressuring the quarterback.

As of right now, Florida State has four-star Javion Hilson in the fold (who was previously committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide). It would be great to see the Seminoles acquire at least two more pass rushers this cycle. Targets include five-star Zion Grady, four-star JaKaleb Faulk (Auburn commit), four-star Jared Smith, and three-star Tylon Lee.
