Three players that have been surprising contributors during the spring for the Noles

I will be honest with you, I certainly did not expect the Seminoles to take another defensive back after getting Earl Little Jr. from Alabama. I believed that their defensive backfield was serviceable to make it happen.

The Seminoles were high on Brown's skill set before he chose to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes. After a bit of a forgettable 2023 campaign with the Hurricanes (no development there), he decided to enter the transfer portal once again.

Florida State's coaching staff was trying to find effective options at the safety position after long-time defensive back Akeem Dent finally graduated. Dent was essentially the "quarterback of the defense". He kept the defense in check constantly.

Turning to the 2024 season, the Seminoles return veteran Shyheim Brown to their safety room. However, who will be paired alongside him? Florida State has options at the position such as Ashlynd Barker and Conrad Hussey.

I believe that the senior seriously has an opportunity to start at safety if he continues to impress.
