Florida State is ranked as the 33rd-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings with only prospects committed to the fold in five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.

The Seminoles are wanting to create more momentum in their recruiting class since they have not secured a prospect's commitment since January when Hilson flipped his services from Alabama to Florida State after legendary head football coach Nick Saban retired.

While I would not suggest worrying about the lack of number in commitments right now, the Seminoles do need to keep what they have in the recruiting cycle committed to the program.

We have already seen Hilson being recruited by the Alabama Crimson Tide again in his recruitment process with the new coaching staff in Tuscaloosa. There has also been worry with Thomas with taking other visits to schools such as Miami.

Florida State now has another factor to worry about with four-star quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr. from Mandarin High School taking a recent visit with the arch-rival Florida Gators. The Mandarin High School standout has been committed to the Seminoles since April 2023.

While Jones Jr. suggests that he is firmly committed to the program, fans have seen the trend of a signal-caller committed to the program and say how locked in they are just to see that prospect go to a different school and the Seminoles are then in a position to go a different way on their quarterback recruiting board.

There always seems to be a sense of adversity when it comes to recruiting within the Seminoles' program. However, the coaching staff wants prospects to commit to Florida State but they want to know if the prospect is the right fit for what the program has to offer. They welcome commits to visit other schools (as long as they fully communicate with the staff).

I am not worried about Jones Jr. at this time flipping to Florida, but I would monitor the situation as the recruiting process is ever-changing.
