Conference realignment in college football has been a huge topic of discussion as many teams have switched conferences in hopes of gaining more national relevance as well as more resources to build their brands.

We at ChopChat have documented Florida State's displeasure. We also understand that there are a ton of rumors swirling around that involve the Seminoles going to the SEC, Big Ten, and even the Big 12. I would advise you to stay cautious of the rumor mill in the offseason as some individuals try to gain attention to their platforms with bold takes and claims.

However, the sentiment is true. Florida State wants to leave the ACC. There is no doubt about it as the program is currently in a lawsuit with the conference. As most know, lawsuits take time to settle especially when you are dealing with millions of dollars.

Florida State has expressed interest in the SEC and Big Ten of its success in terms of gaining resources and winning national championships. However, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey spoke on the Seminoles joining the conference. Here is what he had to say.

With Florida State in a lawsuit, I expected Sankey to take this. The conference did just add Texas and Oklahoma to the fold. However, Florida State would bring a ton of attention to an already great group of schools.

After Sankey's comments, Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has developed hypothetical odds with who could join the SEC next:

-North Carolina (+300)

-Clemson (+350)

-Florida State (+400)

-Virginia (+500)

-Virginia Tech (+600)

-Miami (+1200)

-Oklahoma State (+1500)

-The Field (+1300)

THOUGHTS

I do not want to get so caught up in the conference realignment talk. It seems like everywhere you turn, someone is talking about it. I just want to see Florida State football successive on the football field and seeing them get the same opportunities to succeed as everyone else.
