OFFENSIVE TACKLE

This is a need that was brought about this spring since senior offensive tackle Robert Scott Jr. was ruled out for the remainder of the spring by head football coach Mike Norvell.

This is an unfortunate turn of events since it seems like Scott Jr. cannot stay healthy as of late. I hope that this will give him the time to effectively recover from his injuries and have a productive final season in Tallahassee. He has played a multitude of snaps during his time at Florida State where he was a former three-star prospect in Norvell's first recruiting class in 2020 with the Seminoles.

As for the other offensive tackle options, the Seminoles have Darius Washington (who can play anywhere), Jeremiah Byers, Andre Otto, Tye Hylton, Jayden Todd, and Lucas Simmons. Beside Washington and Byers, none of the other players on the roster have meaningful collegiate experience.

I believe that this would be the reason behind the coaching staff deciding to add another offensive tackle to the transfer portal.
