Head football coach Mike Norvell responds to Seminoles' baseball team's win over UVA
QB JORDAN TRAVIS' INJURY
Okay, okay... This is the last one, I promise.
Florida State's football program was cooking with hot grease during the 2023 season as they were led by ultra-talented signal-caller Jordan Travis. He orchestrated an offense that was one of the best in the country with big-bodied receiver Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson as well as physical running back Trey Benson.
It looked like a foregone conclusion that the Seminoles would be in the College Football Playoff if they continued to handle business. Then the unthinkable happened...
Florida State was playing its last home game of the season versus North Alabama in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. It was supposed to be a joyous moment for all of the fans to enjoy the hard work and dedication that was displayed by all of the seniors.
However, a scary sight for the Florida State fan base occurred as quarterback Jordan Travis scrambled for a first down in the first quarter. He landed awkwardly after a hip-drop tackle. It was noticed that Travis could not get up as his leg was seen visibly broken.
This was depressing as the training staff came out to help Travis. The fan base was in a panic since the quarterback meant so much to the university. However, the program did not give up and went undefeated during the 2023 season where they beat the likes of North Alabama, Florida, and Louisville in the ACC Championship Game with the help of quarterbacks Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn.
Even though the College Football Playoff committee excluded the Seminoles from competing for a national championship, I loved the way that the Seminoles fought until the very end even when adversity struck.
