FSU softball: 3 major takeaways from Dugout Club Classic

FSU Young Hitters No Fluke
FSU returned a ton of firepower from last year's team offensively, but we knew they'd need a few freshmen to contribute in a big way to avoid a huge falloff. I think we can comfortably say the freshmen will be a force this season. They could fall off towards the end of the season because their bodies aren't used to the grind of college softball. For now, they have been factors in nearly every game. Jaysoni Beachum leads the team with a .512 batting average.
She can flat-out rake and has only struck out once in over 40+ at-bats, with three home runs and 14 RBI. Isa Torres has a .409 batting average with a .458 on-base percentage. Torres has also made some nice defensive plays. Kennedy Harp continues to take advantage of her limited opportunities. She had a couple of hits over the past few games and is hitting .333 with two stolen bases. We'll talk about Ashtyn Danley later, and Angelee Bueno took advantage of her playing time with a hit as a pinch hitter.
