WR MALIK BENSON

Florida State knew that it had to replace its top two wide receiver options with Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson as it entered the 2024 season. Both Coleman and Wilson are projected to be a high-end draft pick by the league.

With that being said, the void has got to be filled with either the wide receivers on the roster (Hykeem Williams, Destyn Hill, Kentron Poitier, JaKhi Douglas, etc.) or dabble into the transfer portal with veteran options.

Florida State decided to add two veterans in the transfer portal. One notable player that I want to mention is former Alabama pass-catcher Malik Benson. During the 2023 season, Benson only recorded 13 receptions for 162 yards and one touchdown.

Norvell alluded on Thursday that he liked what he saw from Benson. He was emerging as a leader for the Seminoles and setting an example in Tour of Duty workouts. This could go a long way in helping the Alabama transfer become a top option for the offense.

He was not utilized as much as he would have liked with the Crimson Tide. Most of his routes were short to immediate. The speed was evident. The Seminoles recruited Benson heavily last recruiting cycle as he was considered the number one JUCO wide receiver prospect in the country.
