FSU Leaving ACC Is Forgone Conclusion

Many folks laughed and thought it was a joke when FSU filed a lawsuit against the ACC in December. Fast forward a few months later, and Clemson has filed their lawsuit, which is another domino in the chain reaction that will ultimately result in FSU leaving the ACC. The two sides have gone back and forth with their arguments, and it seems like FSU has done a better job at keeping the ACC on the defensive. The term "ironclad" regarding the ACC Grant of Rights seems laughable now, although North Carolina media heads tried to force that narrative down our throats. It's becoming clear by the passing weeks that FSU was way smarter than folks gave them credit, as the math is starting to math for those paying attention.

For whatever reason, folks thought FSU had to win the case against the ACC. However, settling would be a win as long as it was below the projected 570 million FSU calculated they needed to pay before the lawsuit. Now that Clemson has filed, I wouldn't be surprised to see North Carolina or someone else eventually follow suit. FSU will leave the ACC sooner rather than later. I would be shocked if they didn't formally announce intentions to leave by the deadline in August, meaning their final year in the ACC would be 2025.
