FSU football: Top 15 most important defensive players for 2024 season
By Kelvin Hunt
No. 7 DJ Lundy-LB
DJ Lundy is the most experienced linebacker on the team and was an important part of the defense last season. He's also been highly productive, finishing third in total tackles and sixth in tackles for a loss. He's been limited this fall but should step into a starting role if healthy this season. His production and experience, plus his ability to line up the defense, was why it was a big win when the coaching staff got him stay at FSU instead of transferring to Colorado.
FSU has bodies behind him but little proven experience. Justin Cryer, Nichelson, and Omar Graham Jr. have promise, but I'd rather FSU not have to rely on those guys, along with Cam Riley who's still learning the nuances of the defense and how to react to different looks. A healthy DJ Lundy will be a major part of the FSU defense in 2024.
