I'm sure some FSU football fans would place this game higher on the list. However, I always expected FSU to win this game and predicted the win well before the season based on the 2022 game and acquisitions FSU made in the offseason. I pointed out how Mike Norvell had outcoached Brian Kelly in their previous matchups, even the losses. It was virtually a pick'em game, according to oddsmakers, and FSU put the stamp on the Tigers in the second half for a blowout win.

It was an important win because it set the expectations for the 2023 season and proved the momentum FSU continued from the 2022 season was real. LSU lost two more games that year, and pundits didn't seem to respect the win as much as they should because it was so early in the season. However, in hindsight, FSU's defense shut down the No. 1 offense and the eventual Heisman Trophy winner.
