FSU football: Three wishes for Nole fans heading into the New Year
LOOK PAST THE ORANGE BOWL LOSS
The national "analysts" for the ESPN network will continue to harp on why the Florida State Seminoles should not have been in the College Football Playoff after their 63-3 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.
However, several opt-outs in the game largely impacted the result. While I get that fans are disappointed in the outcome of the contest as well as the numerous opt-outs when the Bulldogs had their full complement of players in a "meaningless" bowl game. I also understand the notion of those same fans wanting to forfeit the matchup since the Seminoles were not fully equipped to play.
Regardless, it still does not discount the fact that the Seminoles had an incredible 2023 season that deserves to be celebrated. Head football coach Mike Norvell and company turned this program around in a short period and it is remarkable to see the hard work and dedication that has been put in.
While the largest defeat in bowl game history will certainly sting for quite some time, we have to take a step back and remember that this program has had its fair share of horrific moments in the past couple of years. Through it all, the Seminoles have remained unconquered.
We at ChopChat hope to see you all at the Garnet and Gold Showcase in April.
