Overall Thoughts

Earlier this year, I leaned more towards joining the B1G. The increase in revenue would be huge, and there is some opportunity for massive games in that conference. FSU against Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State, and USC would do major numbers on TV. I've thought the B1G isn't better overall from a top-to-bottom competition standpoint than the ACC. Michigan didn't play a ranked team until week 10 in 2023, but nobody criticized their schedule for whatever reason. I think FSU would have a major talent advantage over most schools in that conference.

The travel to away games would be crazy for FSU student-athletes and would cost more than travels to closer teams in the SEC. The weather would have the potential to suck during certain parts of the year. The impact on the local economy would be much greater if FSU joined the SEC, and the revenue gap isn't so crazy that it would make that big of a difference if everything remained the same in the future. The more I think about it, the SEC would make the most sense.
