Does all of these high-caliber players mean the Orange Bowl will likely be a product that doesn't resemble what we watched each Saturday this year? It's likely, however, having so many guys declaring for the NFL Draft is a good thing. As I said, FSU has only had two guys drafted over the past two years. For FSU to have this many guys eligble for the Draft means FSU has proven to be a destination where you can have a path to the league. I know that is a given, considering FSU's rich history, but it's a what have you done for me lately crowd.

Not only can FSU coaches talk up the number of players drafted, but they can also point to their development, even the transfer players. Nobody wanted Johnny Wilson when he entered the portal from Arizona State. Trey Benson hadn't done anything while at Oregon and was coming off a catastrophic leg injury. Jaheim Bell saw his production in the passing game improve at FSU. Kalen DeLoach's improvement over the past few years has been amazing. I could go on and on. It's a good thing these guys will likely hear their names called in a few months. They should be celebrated for their contributions to FSU and helping get FSU back to competin for championships, not criticized for not playing in a meaningless bowl game.
