FSU football: How better quarterback play can change everything for the Noles
By Kelvin Hunt
Parting Thoughts
As badly as the FSU defense has played through two games, they've only allowed 24 and 21 points(one of those touchdowns Boston College scored was on Mike Norvell and the turnover giving a short field). FSU has faced two dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks, which isn't the norm. They should fare better against pro-style quarterbacks who don't pose a huge threat in the running game (Memphis). That helps simplify things defensively, but the defense needs help from the offense to give them a shot to win games.
That all begins with better quarterback play. We've seen glimpses of it from DJ Uiagalelei. He's led the offense through the air on two of those three touchdown drives, and we've seen guys make plays for him. If he(or whoever is playing QB) can start making plays offensively, I think it'll give the spark needed to get this team to finally play together with everyone doing their job. If not, we'll continue to see the defense provide half-hearted effort and wear down in the second half because the offense can't sustain any success early. They need a confident and productive offense so they can be held accountable.
