FSU football: Coaches continue to focus on recruiting Florida and Georgia in 2025 class

2025 Recruiting Thus Far
FSU football has four commits in its 2025 recruiting class and made some major noise flipping Alabama commit Javion Hilson. The 2025 recruiting rankings have a long way to go before they're truly accurate, but Hilson ranks as the No. 47 player nationally. FSU also has a commitment from the No. 19 player nationally, Solomon Thomas. All four commitments hail from the Sunshine State and rank as blue-chip prospects in the composite rankings.
The latter is where I think we'll see the major difference between the upcoming recruiting cycle and in years past. FSU, coming off a 13-1 campaign and an ACC Championship, is clearly the best program in the Sunshine State. I think you'll see FSU in the mix for way more top players in Florida and Georgia, especially when considering the following factors: Nick Saban's retirement and Florida's likely demise in Billy Napier's third season with such a difficult schedule. FSU is already potentially the leader for top players like five-star Jaime Ffrench and top 100 player Darrell Johnson. The 2024 class was excellent overall, but the 2025 class could be ELITE while getting more top players from Florida and Georgia.
