TE AMAREE WILLIAMS/LANDEN THOMAS

Florida State had to replace the likes of Jaheim Bell at the tight end after the 2023 season. Just like many other Seminoles, he elected to take his talents to the NFL.

As most fans know, head football coach Mike Norvell values the tight end position. He places importance on the spot because he lines them up in so many different ways: In-line blockers/receiving threats, on the outside, in the slot, and in the backfield.

The Seminoles decided to start Kyle Morlock at tight end this season. He was a key backup behind Bell on the depth chart and was utilized a ton in their two tight-end sets last year. The former Shorter (DII) transfer had a horrific game on Monday night though where he had three drops. Those drops cost the Seminoles an opportunity to move the football downfield and stop the momentum.

Two options that I think need to get more looks at tight end at true freshmen Amaree Williams and Landen Thomas. I know that both of them are young, but their talent is through the roof. Williams was the talk of fall camp after the position change and Thomas was a former high four-star prospect.

I think you will see both of them have expanded roles as the season progresses.
