Trey Benson

FSU football running back Trey Benson came into the NFL Draft as a known commodity, one of the top guys at his position. All scouts know he's a physical specimen, didn't fumble in college, runs physically, and has serious speed. The NFL Combine was all about solidifying his size, weight, and what he'd run in the 40-yard dash. Benson didn't disappoint, turning in a blazing 4.39 in one attempt before shutting it down. Benson said he could have run faster, but figured that time was fast enough to prove his speed was legit.

Benson had the second-fastest 10-yard split (1.52), the fastest was 1.51. He measured in at 6'0" and 216 pounds. That's an incredible time for a guy that size and likely faster than many anticipated. I think most folks I saw had him pegged as a low 4.4 guy, and he surpassed those expectations with ease. He'll likely be one of the first running backs selected next month, if not the first one.
