FSU football: 5 reasons FSU will easily have a top 25 offense in 2024

New Headset Rule Allows Mike Norvell To Talk to QB
This facet right here is the game-changer that hasn't been a factor in years past. The NCAA passed a rule allowing coaches to talk to their quarterbacks on the field. The coach-to-player communication will be shut off with 15 seconds left on the play clock or the snap of the ball, whichever comes first. That is a massive advantage for an experienced guy like DJ Uiagalelei, especially with a great offensive mind like Mike Norvell calling the plays. Norvell can communicate things to be on the lookout for based on what the defense is doing.
He can provide reminders about certain aspects and will have 25 seconds to get the play in and communicate whatever he wants. If you're a team coached by someone like Mario Cristobal, it's probably not an advantage, but it's a huge advantage for offenses with the head coach calling the offensive plays. I expect FSU to play to the strengths of Uiagalelei, not to mention he'll have a ton of talent around him. The FSU offensive line should be the best it's been in years. FSU should have no problem running the ball. The biggest question mark is at receiver. There's talent there, but less proven, but that was the case in 2022 as well.
Mike Norvell has two more years under his belt at FSU and a talented roster on offense. If he could turn that 2022 offense into a top 10 unit, I think the 2024 version will easily be a top-25 unit with all of these positive factors.
