DJU In Red Zone Over Last Two Years

A college offense scoring touchdowns instead of kicking field goals is often the difference between winning and losing against top competition. FSU's offense was great in 2022 because of their ability to score touchdowns in the red zone. They scored touchdowns on 46 of 66 possessions(70 percent) and only kicked 10 field goals. The 2023 team saw that drop to 33 in 55 attempts and 15 field goals. One of the strongest parts of DJ Uiagalelei's game is leading offenses to score touchdowns in the red zone. He's done it at a high level in two different places.

Clemson's offense in 2022 scored touchdowns on 45 of 62 possessions in the red zone (72.58 percent). Oregon State scored touchdowns on 33 of 42 (78.57 percent) possessions last year. Uiagalelei scored seven rushing touchdowns in 2022 and six in 2023. He's a huge body that easily falls forward for a few yards, and teams have to account for him in the run game, which opens up other avenues to score. If FSU scores touchdowns at a 70 percent clip in the red zone? They'll easily average 30+ ppg.
